That’s why we recently stepped away from the tools for a day of team building in the woods, focusing on developing the skills that make us stronger together.
Building Better Communication
The day centred around enhancing our communication skills and understanding the important role that body language plays in effective teamwork. Whether on-site, in meetings, or working alongside clients and other contractors, clear communication is essential to delivering projects safely, efficiently, and successfully.
Through a series of practical activities, our team explored how non-verbal communication can influence collaboration, decision-making, and problem-solving in the workplace.
Working Together to Overcome Challenges
Throughout the day, we took part in a variety of team exercises designed to test our ability to foresee challenges, adapt to changing situations, and overcome problems together.
These activities highlighted the importance of trust, planning, leadership, and supporting one another—qualities that we bring to every project we undertake. It reinforced that the strongest solutions are often achieved when everyone works towards a common goal.
Supporting Wellbeing
To round off the day, we focused on wellbeing through a session on practical wellbeing skills before enjoying the peaceful surroundings with some forest bathing (also known as forest basking).
Taking time to disconnect from the demands of everyday work and reconnect with nature provided an opportunity to relax, reflect, and recharge—something we believe is vital for maintaining both physical and mental wellbeing.
